Betsi (The Tudor Dog) is an adventure program which supports children working towards Level 3 and 4 attainment targets for Key Stage 2 History (especially QCA KS2 history scheme of work unit 8: What were the differences between the lives of rich and poor people in Tudor times?). The software also provides background knowledge for the QCA KS2 history scheme of work units 7: Why did Henry VIII marry six times? (Year 3/4) and 19: What were the effects of Tudor exploration? (Year 5/6). Betsi is set in a busy Tudor city. Betsi's travels will set children's imaginations buzzing as she visits many locations. Betsi listens to conversations, visits numerous tradefolk, inspects various lodgings and even watches a famous play! Also included is a set of useful printable resource sheets which contain 200 questions on the Tudors (linked to the program). Betsi assists with the development of several of the required Key Elements as specified in the National Curriculum for History at Key Stage 2 - 8) British history; 10) Britain and the wider world in Tudor times. Children using Betsi are constantly provided with a wealth of information on the Tudor period.
